Well, on the 3rd of July, Westpac called - they have approved us! YAYAYAYAYAYA! However, the catch is, just how much? That will depend on what the valuer says the job will be worth when entirely finished. But it should still all be ok.
So now we need to sort out the conditions on the DA so we can get the construction certificate. Since nothing ever goes smoothly, we have to entirely re do our landscape plan (professionally - so another $1200-15oo) plus submit a site management plan - whatever that is. Plus other bits and pieces. But we are still hopeful that we will be "on the tools" within the next 2 to 3 weeks. Our plumber and project manager are raring to go!
After being burnt by a project builder we decided to become an owner builder. This blog will be a good reminder if we ever think of doing this again! *FINAL UPDATE!!* We are finally in 3 yrs later! So great to be in now and loving our new suburb and taking walks down to the water and the great local parks. Still bits and pieces to be done around the house but the main parts are done.
