A few more pics of the brickies handy work. So they have now completed the bottom section of the wall down the right hand side of the house (as you face the front of the house from the drive).

The first picture shows the back of the house, the next two the side of the house.

They have said that they should be finished everything in around 10 working days so lets hope that the rain holds off or at least stays light.

We have also got a number of quotes from renderers who will start as soon as the brickies are done. Then the roofer will be ready to go and we should be almost at lock up.....but i am not holding my breath!!

SCAFFOLDING AND BRICKS

So we have now got the scaffolding up and ready for the brickies and the renderers.
The brickies started on Monday and have done a bit (see the second pic) however since then it has teamed down with rain (of course) so we have hit a dead patch again.....
*sigh*

Frame done above garage

The frame has now been finished above the garage for the "great" room or media room. So that is pretty exciting.

We had the brickies there for half a day to work on the garage walls but Monday is D-Day for them - they had better come and start working on the rest of the house! Our lovely facebricks have been delivered so now they just need to be laid.

Excuse the terrible quality of these pics but they are from the phone and the light was going.

The first shows the entrance to the house - on the right is the wall of the garage.

The next shows the entrance to the downstairs bathroom with the laundry behind it - viewed from the entrance hallway. Then you can see our coat/shoe area on the right of the hallway.

The next is looking back out of the front door area from the hallway.

So....we have made a little bit of progress BUT we are still waiting for the brickies.

They rang today and said that they would definitely be on site 24 May. They damn well better be! Almost three months behind as a result. Not at all happy. However, we have still been plodding away. As you can see from these pics, the new section above the garage has been started.

All the frames are up and inside you can see a real house taking place.

here are some updated pics. we have now wrapped the house (insulation) and have the "roof" pitched.

unfortunately, we have had massive delays due to the brickies not coming. We are about six weeks behind as a result which is very disappointing. They are now meant to come to this saturday to make a start but who knows...they just keep pushing it back. Not necessarily their fault, but very frustrating none the less.

Frame almost done

The frame is almost complete and ready for the brickies, who are scheduled to start on 15 March.

In these pics you can see the frame at the end of the slab which is the downstairs bathroom and laundry.

you can also see that the rest of the frame is pretty much done and all of the windows in, but for the french doors at the front.

upstairs windows

Happily we now have almost all of our windows in. A few are still not in, as we need the window guys to come back and make some repairs as there was some damage when they unloaded them off the truck.

But otherwise they are pretty much done.

The bricks and scaffolding will arrive around the 10th of March and the brickies are starting at 6am on the 15th which is incredibly exciting.

Here you can see the house with windows on the bottom floor - yay!

Tomorrow, the rest will go in upstairs, as well as the french doors at the front of the house. Very exciting :)

Please forgive the terrible quality of the pics which were taken with my phone.
